I was watching a lecture from a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and he was talking about a 3d animation project he created for middle/high school students. It is called the Alice project. It is available for free in any OS (Win, Mac, Linux). I have played around with it for a few days, and am totally blown away! It seems quite easy to use, and allows you to create truly 3d animation games or stories. Take a look at it and see what you think. I will try and get it running on a couple computers in the mac lab today and see if they can handle it. http://www.alice.org/
